Welcome to The UK Forum for Stroke Training (hereinafter referred to as “UKFST”) website.

If this privacy policy changes in any way, UKFST will place an updated version on this page. Regularly reviewing this page ensures you are always aware of the information UKFST collects, how it is used, and under what circumstances, if any, it will be shared with other parties.

Definitions used in the Privacy Policy

·        The terms "this site" and “this website” means all internet pages in the www.ukfst.org domain.

·        “UKFST” includes any person or organisation involved in any part of the design, development, moderation, response-handling, marketing, promotion or other similar aspects of this site.

·        "User(s)", “visitor(s)”, “you”, “your” and “yours” means the person(s) accessing or interacting with the website.

UKFST is committed to protecting your privacy and this policy explains how we use information you give to us and how we protect your privacy.

This policy only applies to those resources within the ukfst.org domain.

The Data Protection Act

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, UKFST has a legal duty to protect any information collected from you. UKFST uses leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard our data, and strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it. UKFST will not pass on your details to any third party unless you give us permission to do so.

What information is collected?

This can include:

·        feedback (through emails or letters to the team);

·        registration (for access to various parts of the site – for example, ‘Apply for Endorsement’ area)

·        information about reviewers and their areas of expertise.

·        site usage information, from cookies and log files.

In addition, details of applicants and their courses will be collected from electronic applications in order for an overview of endorsed courses to be placed on the UKFST searchable database.  Agreeing to our Terms and Conditions signifies you agree to this information being published on our database.
 

Comments and questions

If you send an email or letter via ukfst.org asking for information, UKFST may need to contact other organisations to find the answer. If your question is technical, UKFST may need to pass it to our technology supplier’s team. UKFST will include your personal information when dealing with your enquiry. When a member of the UKFST team has replied to you, a record of your message will be kept for six months for reference and audit purposes, after which it is deleted.

Site usage information

Cookies 

These are pieces of data created when you visit some websites, and are stored in the cookie directory of your computer. Cookies are created when you visit this website and use some of the facilities (for example, if you take part in an online poll).

Cookies do not contain any personal information about you, and they cannot be used to identify an individual user. You can set your browser not to accept cookies, however if you do some parts of this site may not work correctly.

Log files 

These allow UKFST to record visitors’ use of the site. UKFST will analyse log file information from all our visitors and use it to make changes to the layout of the site and to the information in it, based on the way that visitors move around it.

Log files do not contain any personal information and they are not used to identify any individual patterns of use of the site.

What happens when I link to another site?

ukfst.org may contain links to other websites. This privacy policy applies only to the UKFST site. If you select a link to another website which directs you away from the UKFST website you should read the privacy statement of that site if it collects personal information.

UKFST does not pass on any personal information to any other site.

What happens to the information I supply?

Any details you supply to UKFST are held in strict confidence. If you state you are happy for UKFST to hold your details UKFST will from time to time contact you either by phone, post or email about the initiative.  Should you not wish to be contacted please notify us in writing by email at ukfst@stroke.org.uk.

How do we protect personal information?

UKFST utilises RBS WorldPay when you make a payment via our website. Appropriate measures are taken to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used.
